Up for sale is this glorious 1964 Fender Jaguar, custom ordered in Lake Placid Blue with factory gold hardware. Custom color Fenders are already difficult enough to find, but gold hardware examples are exceedingly rare, with only a very small percentage receiving this special treatment through custom order.

In addition to looking amazing, this jaguar also plays and sounds great. The two original pick ups sound awesome, balance nicely, and have very nice sustain in the current set up.

This Jaguar is a beautiful combination of striking cosmetics and a naturally aged relic appearance from honest use over the decades. Most of the wear is concentrated on the back and sides, while the top remains remarkably clean overall. The forearm area shows some wear through the clear coat and color coat, exposing the white primer underneath in a very attractive and authentic way.

The gold hardware has faded somewhat with age, but it still retains enough richness and “pop” to stand out beautifully against the Lake Placid Blue finish.

The finish black lights exactly as it and shows no signs of refinish, touchup, or overspray.

Jaguars feature Fender’s shorter 24-inch scale length compared to Jazzmasters, Stratocasters, and Telecasters, which gives the neck a slightly more compact and comfortable feel. This example falls squarely into the medium-slim territory in terms of profile. Measurements are approximately .805" at the 1st fret, .835" at the 3rd fret, and .875" at the 5th fret, gradually increasing from there. Nut width measures 1.55".

The guitar comes housed in an era-correct no-logo offset case, which is appropriate for late 1964 production. The pots and neck date to late 1964 as well. Interestingly, the guitar retains the earlier single-line Kluson tuners, which are quite valuable on their own. I have personally sold orphaned sets of these tuners for several thousand dollars.

Also included are the original vintage polish cloth and string pack. The strap is included as well, although I believe it to be a high-quality vintage reissue rather than original to the guitar.

This guitar will ship worldwide, though I do not falsify customs forms.
