1974 Gibson ES-335. Still the early Norlin era version with lots still in common with the late 1960s examples.

Perhaps most importantly, this one still has patent number sticker pickups, which were used by Gibson until existing stock was depleted around this year. These pick ups were definitely made in the late 60s since they have patent number stickers and Phillips head screws.

However, it still has the 1970s feature such as the “connected” Norlin era Gibson logo, three-piece neck, volute, etc. It’s quite light weight for a 335 at 7.8 lbs.

It has very little fret wear.

The key components, including pots and electronics are original. Finish is original as well. It has a few small changes such as silver reflector knobs… I like those better than the witch hats. The posts and wheels were changed to brass. The ABR is a later repro. Obviously changed tuners. Some binding shrinkage/separation by the lower tuner button. See photo. Cosmetic only.

Aftermarket hard case.
