1967 Epiphone Riviera 12-String — Sparkling Burgundy — Original Case
Here is a beautiful 1967 Epiphone Riviera 12-string in Sparkling Burgundy. It is in excellent cosmetic condition for a guitar approaching 60 years of age, with only minor imperfections consistent with a vintage instrument.
The Riviera 12-string was Epiphone’s counterpart to the Gibson ES-335-12. By the 1960s, Gibson was building Epiphone guitars alongside its own models in Kalamazoo, using many of the same materials and components. The Riviera has its own distinctive character, including Epiphone’s mini-humbucking pickups.
The neck has the narrower 1 9/16-inch nut width typical of many Gibson-built guitars from this period, with a little more depth to the neck profile than the nut measurement might suggest.
The guitar has been professionally set up and sounds and plays nicely. It also received a professionally installed replacement truss rod. The work is not visibly apparent, but it is disclosed here for completeness.
