Up for sale is this wonderful 1930s Gibson L-0. The factory order number is 99. That appears to date it around 1932, give or take.

Tthis one is in very nice shape and has been fully serviced. It was just given a fresh neck reset.

The L-0 is very similar to the L-00. One major difference is that the L-0 is all mahogany in construction. This version lacks a pickguard… Never had one from the factory. These guitars are which really opens up the end more than their ladder braced counterpart.

The neck on this is a chunky medium profile. Some of them have a very thick and sharp hard V shape to them.  This one is comfortably rounded and feels very nice in the hand.

The guitar has all original parts and finish, with the exception of one screw, which attaches the tuner shaft to the tuner. I used the basket case set of tuners from the same decade to replace the missing part. It’s the exact same part, just from a different tuner. The bridge pins are fairly obviously non-original. The nut has also been replaced. The guitar had two repaired cracks on the top on the side near the sound hole. It also had two small cracks on the treble side. These have been repaired. It comes in a gator case.
