Circa 1965-1966 Vox Pacemaker. Vox licensed USA production of their amplifiers to the Thomas Organ company to satisfy USA demand. The first examples they built were all tubing construction, but they quickly transition to solid state circuitry.

This is one of the early examples. It’s all tube. It’s loosely based on the AC – 15 and has some (British) Voxy vibes to it. But it’s definitely its own sound. The tubes are EL 84s and 12AX7s so you definitely get a more British tone out of this one.

This one sounds very nice and is in good working condition. It does have some modest wear and tear to the grill cloth.

This one has a replacement speaker. The original vox bulldogs didn’t sound that great, so this is a “upgrade“. When the speaker was replaced, the speaker mounts on the baffle board were also replaced. The originals were very thin and tended to fail as they did here. The new ones are modern, width, and much stronger. Box bulldog speakers are not that expensive so you could easily restore this with original speaker if you want.

Has been given a general service with a grounded, power cord, and some new tubes
