1982 Gibson “Custom Shop Edition” ES-335.

This is a fabulous era for ES-335!

Very beautiful flame body on the top and on the back. Nickel parts with original Tim Shaw PAFs. Doc neck with binding. Medium neck profile.  Closer to a 60s neck then a 50s neck but more in between.

Frets show only minimal wear. They were never a super tall from the factory, but still have a good amount of height left. Action is fabulous and it has just been set up.  The Tim Shaw PAFs sound fabulous and it really is a joy to play.

Cosmetically I would rate this guitar as being in very good to excellent condition. There is some finish checking along the sides of the body and a couple spots on the back. Overall, the guitar is quite clean for its age. There are also some scratches on the pickguard.  It’s still has original Nashville bridge. These tend to sink a bit over time which is true of this one. You can bend it back to “straight“ with a vice but you do risk snapping the metal. The good news is that the saddles have been cut to compensate for the bwnd, and the string heights still match the radius of the fretboard.   I will include a replacement Nashville bridge that you can use if you’d like.
