A killer example of the tail end of the “custom color“ Fender basses. This one dates to 1972 and the original factory candy apple red finish.

This example sports quintessential natural kind of wear you find on an authentic vintage bass guitar. Quite frankly, this one is about as perfect as it could be and would be a model for the Fender custom shop when they re-create this kind of thing. an authentic vintage guitar. Quite frankly, this one is about as perfect as it could be and would be a model custom shop when they re-create this kind of thing.

Everything on it is fully functional and works as it should. It’s just received a professional set up and plays great.

The most important things on this guitar are original, including the finish, essential hardware, pick ups, covers, case, etc. Minor changes include the following. First one of the screws on the back of the tuners has been replaced. One pickguard screw was replaced and a washer added to hold the guard in place. The pick up cover screws were replaced. The pots were replaced. Nearly all of these parts are either insignificant or can be easily found at very cheap rates if you wish to restore the bass more fully.
