1969 Gibson SJN (Southern Jumbo Natural). The model is also called a Country Western (same model with different names).

This is a square-shouldered Gibson dreadnought. It has the wider 1 and 11/16th inch nut width which is typically preferred by players. It is not a baseball bat neck but a chunky medium which fits very comfortably in the hand. It has just had a pro set up and sounds very nice.

It was one of Gibsons “higher” end acoustics, but not on a par with the fine appointments on a Dove or Humminbird. You get the Humminbird shape pick guard without the decorative etchings, but you do get split parallelogram inlays. Slap a repro hummingbird guard on here and that is basically what you have!

The guitar has been recently checked over and serviced. All it needed was a string change and a top crack repair (professional cleated and sealed). You can see the crack but thankfully blends in fairly well with the grain. We did not add any lacquer in the crack, which you can do if you want it to blend even better. The tuners were long ago changed to Schallers. A bit of binding looks like it was reglue but nothing major. There is lacquer checking on the guitar, most significantly on one of the sides (see photos).

See photos for all other details. If you want a closer look at anything, just ask.

Ships in an older chipboard case that came with hth guitar. Will be packed carefully.
