1969 Fender Telecaster. this year is a great one for the model with very classic looking specs. The blonde finish and Maple neck are very reminiscent of the 1950s. The neck profile is a chunky D-shape.

The neck and body still sport their original finish with no touchup or overspray. There is finish checking in a few areas along with modest player wear. You can see a few chips and dings along the edges as well.  Nothing too terrible and no major eyesores.

The guitar has a fairly recent pro re-fret, with bigger frets that make it an exceptionalplayable. The action is very low and it really is a joy to play.

The guitar has the original 1969 pickups and 1966 pots 250k pots. The pickups had to be rewound. It currently has modern compensated brass saddles. These allow for more perfect intonation. It will be very easy to restore back to stock if you want to put on an original set.  There is also an added second string tree. Note also that the output jack has been replaced. The tuners are vintage but not original to the guitar. They are German-made version of the trapezoid F-tuners. They were probably put on by the original owner back in the day because they were superior in terms of tuning stability.

It otherwise has the original finish, bridge, tuners, neck plate, pickguard, knobs, and strap buttons.

So it currently has a couple fairly minor and reversible “player“ mods.

With 1969 pickups, 1966 pots, and a 280,000 range this guitar is clearly within the parameters of a 1969. It also has the number stamps on the body you off and see in 1969. However, the neck date stamp is one of those exceptions that don’t give a precise date of manufacture. this number system was used from about 1969-1970. You can look up the Guitar HQ website for more information on these odd number stamped codes. They are usually in green ink and include a batch number as well as a Model and date code. There’s obviously a small chance this is a 1970 that was built in late 1969. But in the end, there is no fundamental difference between the modeled during those years.

Although it currently is set up with a few changes, most of them are easily reversible.

Comes in a later Fender-branded hard shell case.
