1966 Fender Jazzmaster in Lake Placid Blue refinish. Great sounding and playing guitar.

The important parts are original: body, neck, electronics, pickups, and pots. The switch tip looks to be changed. Tremolo is original but has a new spring, arm and arm receiver. Pickup covers are original but have been painted/coated white to match the guard. Guard is not original—this was originallay sunburst and had a tortoise shell guard which doesn’t typically look great on Lake Placid blue. Neck has overspray and a new decal that just says “Fender.” Tuners are original. Strap buttons are replacements. Shielding is original but has primer paint on it (can easily flake off). Pots date to the middle of 1965 and late 1964–very common on 1966 Jazzmasters. They are original to the guitar.

Neck date is February 1966. This is a transition “dots and binding“ example.

It plays nicely. I have only given it a basic set up prioritizing low action and proper radius of the strings. You may want to have the guitar set up and gone through to your preferences. Both the rhythm and treble circuits are functioning. Both neck and bridge pickups work fine and sound strong.

Case is original and is functional. It looks like the case was opened a little too far at one point so it feels a little “loose” on the top. It stays closed just fine and still stays open at a “right angle.”
