1964 Epiphone Frontier. I think this is my favorite Gibson-made acoustic model. It’s close to a Dove with the maple back and sides and mahogany top. But the obvious old west theme gives it its own flavor.

Sonically the guitar sounds simply superb. It has a nice, big sound. Lots of meaty mid range. It’s not a boomy guitar, but doesn’t lack for fundamental low end. It has been fully serviced with standard repair work. This included a bridge re-glue as the original was lifting. It was also fully refretted. Two very small cracks had developed along the edge of the pickguard due to shrinkage. The guard was removed in order to properly cleat the cracks, and then re-applied. You can see the close-up photos. an output jack was once installed on the bottom of the guitar, which is now plugged with an end pin. Changed tuners (drop-in).
The case is not original to the guitar, but is older. It will work fine for shipment and I will make sure it’s secure, but it could use a little repair work if you want to use it regularly. One latch is not working along with one of the hinges. The piping is also coming loose as it has shrunk over the years. But it will work for shipment.
