Update: Relisting the guitar to reflect the fact that the ding on the fret board has been repaired.

Here’s a killer prayer grade pre-CBS transition era Stratocaster. My repair and restoration guys are a little backed up right now. So I’m going to put this up in as is condition to see if there’s any interest. If not, I’ll take it down, have the work done, and it will go up again more fully restored at a higher price.

Note: the vintage case is not included with the Guitar. It’s just for the photos.   You will get the form fit case pictured in photos 25. I think its from the 80s.

It’s a great Guitar. Plays nice, even as is and sounds great. Nice weight.

Neck date is December, 1964. Body does not have a visible date which is typical of the era but his original to the guitar. Pickups date to 1965  they are era correct for the instrument. The neck has the original finish as well as the original single line Kluson Tuners. Knobs are also right for the 1960s.

The body has been stripped of its original finish, as well as another layer of finish that was added to the guitar at a later time. You can see part of the original finish in the neck pocket area with the proper “paint stick“ pattern. The tremolo unit is from a few years later but it’s a genuine vintage fender part. The guard might be from the 1970s but it’s definitely not original. Might be later.  Pots are also a mix of later stuff as is the five way switch.

Frets show a little wear but there is plenty of height and in decent shape. The body has some repaired cracks in the neck pocket area (see photos).  They have all been professionally, glued, clamped, and fully repaired. Everything is stable and they are not an issue for the instrument

The neck had a decent “ding” on the third fret area by the dot marker. This has been repaired. See the before and after photos at the end of the photos.

One pickup has the original windings. One has been rewound. The loose pick up you see in the photos has been sent for rewind and repair. It’s almost done and should be in the guitar when it ships. If not, I will ship it later. It currently has a Seymour Duncan as a placeholder.

some of the hardware screws aren’t original. The strap buttons have been changed.

I think that covers everything. See photos for further details. If you have any questions, please shoot them over and I’ll get back to you as soon as I reasonably can.

Comes in a later hard shell case.
