1963 Epiphone Texan.
Desirable earlier short Gibson-style headstcok.
1960s Epiphones were built by Gibson at the old Kalamazoo factory. They are very close in specs to their vintage counterparts.
This one has features similar to a J-50. It has a wide 1 & 11/16th nut with a medium profile. Slope-shouldered body. Small pick guard reminiscent of 1950s Gibson tear drop style guard.
This one shows a little wear commensurate with its age, but overall is in good shape. At some point a neck reset was performed. The neck angle is good in the action where it needs to be. This is a factory adjustable bridge model. The original wooden saddle is included, but I have replaced this with a drop in bone saddle. The guitar still has the original nylon nut. In my opinion, this could be upgraded to a bone nut, but since it is original, I will leave that to the next buyer. The bridge has been re-glued. A couple hairline cracks on the back were professionally repaired.
Ships in an aftermarket case.
