1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior.

First off, this guitar rocks as do nearly all 50s juniors. The single P90 pick up is hard to beat. Many believe that single pick up guitars are the way to go, and when you pick this guy up and strum some chords, you can understand why. It’s got a full, beefy sound that really shines through an old tube amp.

There’s a reason 1959 is “the“ year for Gibson Les Pauls of every variety. It all goes back to the fat neck profile. This one is a solidly “big” 59 neck—not the thinner ”transitional“ examples. It fills the hand comfortably and is exactly what you want. A 1960 is similar in so many respects but the thin neck is just a different experience.

The guitar is entirely crack free with no issues to the neck joint, headstock, or control cavity. This is a huge bonus as it seems that most of these did not survive the decades without some kind of structural repair. Examples like this one that are cracked free or fewer and farther between. The finish is entirely original. It does show some player whereas it saw some use throughout the decades. There’s a good reason for this. It’s a fabulous feeling and playing guitar!

The guitar sports typical player wear from an instrument that saw normal use. There are some marks on the top near the knobs. There is wear along the edges of the body, particularly on the back where it would rub against the stomach and chest areas. There is typical patina you would find on a vintage guitar. If you would like a closer look and anything, just ask.

It also sports the original P90 pickup, pickup cover, control cavity cover, pots, and other electronics.

The changes it has received are pretty minor. Replacement tuners from the 1960s are currently installed. The output jack cracked and has been replaced… Pretty common since it’s plastic. The knobs appear to be your correct repros. The jack also was likely replaced with the jack plate. There are some newer wires running from it to the pots. Other than this the solder is untouched on the other joints.

It comes housed in a vintage Gibson-branded alligator case. It’s fake alligator skin so no animals were harmed and it’s production :-). I am not sure if it was originally made for a Les Paul or another guitar (probably the latter). If you wish I can swap this chipboard case out for a newer Gibson hard case. Just let me know prior to purchasing.

The guitar will be very carefully packed.
