Up for sale is this fabulous 1958 Gibson Les Paul TV Model “Junior.” The guitar is all-original except for era correct knobs and a recent refret. With a single cutaway body, fat neck, original finish and electronics, this guitar is a fabulous vintage example of the model—with the wear to prove it!

The guitar was owned by a single family for many years. The previous owner inherited it from his father.
The “TV Yellow” finish was more typically seen on the Les Paul Special during this year. The single pickup Junior usually had a Sunburst finish. The color is actually called “limed mahogany” and the guitar was branded as a “TV Model.” The idea was that this color would look better for performances on black and white Television than the standard sunburst. Because it is otherwise identitical to the Les Paul Junior it is also often referred to by that name—even though the headstock says “ Les Paul TV Model” as opposed to “Les Paul Junior.”
The guitar’s body and neck are completely crack, break, and repair free. The neck angle is spot on and the recently refretted neck only shows very light wear on the frets. The finish shows heavy wear from the original owner and his son who played it extensively. The silkscreen “Les Paul TV Model” has faded but you can still see the outline in the right lining. The guitar plays great and really roars. The guitar has slightly scratchy pots, but that can easily be addressed if you would like.
